I congratulate Redcarpet Global Limited for organizing 7th Edition of Bangladesh International Garment & Textile Machinery Expo, Bangladesh International Fabric & Yarn Expo, Bangladesh International Printing, Packaging & Signage Expo and Bangladesh International Dyes, Pigments & Chemicals Expo, from 26 to 28 October 2023 at International Convention City Bashundhara, Dhaka – Bangladesh. The back bone of Bangladesh’s economic growth is Apparel Sector and the networking platforms like exhibitions are very important to uphold country’s growth, as well as economy. Keeping the above in concern, there is no alternative of Trade Exhibitions in these sectors & I, heartily welcome all participants & stakeholders approach to involve with BIGTEX as well as Bangladesh’s apparel industry for enhancing the manufacturing strength with new developed technology.

One of key factors behind Bangladesh’s success in the RMG sector is its commitment to adapt to evolving business dynamics and trends in the global market. In line with the changing business landscape, the RMG industry in Bangladesh is increasingly focusing on diversification in products and also expanding exports to new markets. As currently the EU and the USA are the major markets of our apparel exports, the country is looking forward to Japan, Australia, South Korea, Brazil, Mexico, China, Russia and United Arab Emirates that could be new potential destinations for Bangladesh’s apparel products.

There is no alternative of Exhibitions on these sectors & I, heartily welcome Redcarpet’s initiative of such kind of International Exhibition, which will definitely help the Foreign Buyers know about Bangladesh’s Apparel sectors target & its strength.

This event is specifically targeted at the RMG industry of Bangladesh and comprises more than three concurrent exhibitions under one comprehensive platform, encompassing the Bangladesh Int’l Fabric & Yarn Expo, Bangladesh Int’l Printing, Packaging & Signage Expo, and Bangladesh Int’l Dyes, Pigments, and Chemicals Expo at the enterprise level. Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BKMEA) is actively participating as an ‘Associate Partner’ with BIGTEX, playing a pivotal role in promoting the Knitting Industry of Bangladesh. Since 1996, BKMEA has been entrusted with the responsibility of regulating and nurturing the knitwear sector, a crucial sector contributing to around 70% of domestic value addition through its strong backward linkage. BKMEA is dedicated to supporting its member factories in improving productivity, occupational health, and structural safety, and ensuring environmental sustainability in alignment with emerging global trends.

Bangladesh is the world’s second-largest Readymade Garment (RMG) exporter, just behind China. The country’s 81% of exports come from the RMG sector, and the textile and apparel sector contributes around 20% to Bangladesh’s GDP. It employs around 20 million people in the country and is the major driving force of the country’s economy. The growth of Bangladesh’s garment manufacturing industry has considerably improved the socioeconomic development of the country. In the last decade, garment export has more than doubled to touch USD 42.6 billion in 2022 (July 2021 to June 2022). The country has now set an aspirational target of exporting RMG worth USD 50 billion by 2025 and touching USD 100 billion by 2030. If we can uphold our export trend in the coming times, I believe we can reach our goal.
